Laser Tag Near Stowmarket

There’s no laser tag arena in Stowmarket. The closest is ours, Planet Laser on Western Way in Bury St Edmunds, about 14 miles west along the A14. It’s one of the few days out from Stowmarket you can do without a car, too: there’s a direct train.

The arena covers 6,000 square feet over four levels, played in Laserforce battlesuits. The same building has a retro arcade, mini bowling and Café Lunar.

The Step up from soft play

Stowmarket’s well set up for little ones, with Playworld for soft play. Laser tag is what comes next. Players need to be 6 or over, and it tends to land right when soft play starts feeling a bit young.

Everyone gets a battlesuit and a phaser, and every game ends with a scoreboard showing exactly who won. That last part settles a lot of arguments in the car on the way home. It also starts a few.
